Print Design & Marketing For Your Business

May 19, 09 Print Design & Marketing For Your Business

Although most of the marketing & design work done at The Social Latte takes place via custom Websites, blogs, Facebook Fan Pages and Twitter Pages, we also do good old fashioned print work for our clients.  No matter what anyone says, print is not dead.  I believe there are just new and different ways to integrate it into the electronic world and one of those is with your business card.  With that said, here is our latest business card design and some great resources for inspiration and design ideas.

Do You Have A Logo?

One of the things I love about Twitter is all the amazing people that are so giving and willing to share their knowledge and talent.  I have learned so much by becoming a good listener and active participant on Twitter.  In terms of logo design, this resource just popped into my Twitter stream yesterday and has some very creative logos to get your juices flowing if you are looking for a new logo.

I highly suggest working with a professional designer to help you create your logo.  Having a professional who understands YOU AND YOUR BUUSINESS, as well as, the tools available, how to work with printers & the web, print characteristics and color selection for your design are critically important in making sure your logo will represent your business well for years to come.

What About A Font?

Whether you have a logo or not, sometimes all you need to get started is a great font.  Often, the font helps set the tone for the overall message, look and feel of the design.  Although there are a bunch of free and commercial font sites, I really enjoyed checking out theses posts on 40+ Excellent Free Fonts For Professional Design and  21 More Free Fonts To Enhance Your Designs

Time To Put It Together.

Now that you have taken a look at some logos and fonts, here are some incredibly creative ways in which companies have put the whole package together.  Think business cards are boring and can’t have any character?  You may have a different opinion after viewing the business card examples posted here and here as they show the full range in creativity that can be applied when designing a business card.

A Little Bit Of Our Work.

Lastly, here is the latest design created by The Social Latte.

The card is done as a ‘collector card’ is size so it is a little larger (height) than a traditional card.  This does a few things:

1. Provides additional room for marketing and sales copy.  In this case, we use the front to leave space for notes on the front and the back talks about services offered by AZ Business Resource.  This is a great way to provide additional information about your company, achievements, awards, customer testimonials or any other important piece of information you want people you are networking with to remember.
2. The slightly larger size, also helps it stand out in a stack of business cards.  With the popularity of speed networking and massive business card exchanges, this can make a difference in getting your card remembered or at least looked at again.

I like to put a picture on the card.  People tend to be visual, and again, if you meet someone within a short time frame, the extra reminder of a face on the card can help them remember who you are and recognize you when you meet for that cup of coffee or lunch for your follow-up appointment.  I hate sitting in a public place trying to figure out who I am meeting.  You should also have your picture up at Linkedin and any other social media sites!
