May I tell you again what a pleasure it was to listen to you and learn from you last night? My notes were not copious, but sufficient to share with my wife a solid taste of what you shared with all of us and taught to us last night regarding the adding potential power of social media, if used well, to our career path. I spent 15 minutes imparting what you talked about (okay, I admit I had a captive audience as she was applying make-up) and some of the incredibly powerful examples you cited, like mobile bbq tacos, to excite her.

My wife and I will both get on Facebook quickly and we will carefully update our profiles in LinkedIn. You might think I am being excessively kind with my praise, yet what you did for me was unlock my mind to dream up a number of specific things I might do now (which I wrote down fast and furiously) to enhance my long-term marketing, which until now, has always lagged, due to my excessive focus on whoever my current client is and spending my efforts in solving his problems.

  • Social media is something Jack is so deeply submersed in, it took a message via twitter to catch up with him for a quick meeting. In our brief time together Jack helped me to identify some key starting points and even spent a few extra minutes helping fix a link to the Common Cents Credit Solutions fan page on Facebook. Not only is Jack Smith a social media expert, he's also willing to go the extra mile to help others.

    Attending one of Jack's classes is a very positive experience. He has a very relaxed teaching style and enables everyone in a class to keep up. If you get an opportunity to attend one of his classes, I would recommend attending.

  • Jack is awesome! This summer I've worked with Jack presenting for @agencyside's 180series AND I also asked him for some technical training on the Thesis blog platform. Having been on both sides of the experience with him I can say that as a presenter, he knows his stuff. He has real life expereince and brings a very business-minded perspective to the table. You won't hear a lot of theories from him that he doesn't back up with solid business application.

    As a teacher/consultant he is equally pragmatic. He takes the time to feel out your current comfort level and where you're at with the technology now and then works with you to get you to the level you want to be at.     You have a lot of knowledge and experience in the social networking world. It's amazing how powerful this arena is and how much it is growing. I think it's awesome!!

    One suggestion is to have pages with step by step instructions. This would definitely cut down on frustration levels, especially with some boomers.

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Jack in early May, 2009 when I attended a Tempe Chamber Social Media class he was teaching on LinkedIn. In just 90 minutes, he showed the class not only how to create a LinkedIn account from beginning to end, but also how this could really promote your business as well. My company was so impressed with Jack that we signed up for six more seminars with him including: Twitter, Facebook, and blogging to name a few.
    Jack is a great and personable presenter who takes a hands-on approach in showing you how being active in the social media can truly benefit you and your business. Our business now has its own functioning Facebook Fan Page and Twitter account which we use EVERYDAY. He still takes the time, anytime, to answer my calls and help me work out the kinks in my everyday media networking.
    If you are serious about exploring the potential of where social media networking can take you and your business, (or even just curious as to what the craze is all about,) I definitely recommend you give Jack a call or a tweet, (after all it is the 21st century.)
